Client Letters: Prepare for early and increased Vendor Central purchase orders ahead of holiday season
Weeks following Prime Day are typically followed by a “pull forward” of ordering for Q4 with a majority of 4th Quarter demand received across September and October. Successful acceptance of those orders is critical to meet Q4 targets.
In anticipation of those early and increased purchase orders, a few links and some verbiage from Amazon:
Collect vendors: Remember to route early, and be ready to ship by 8 a.m. local time on your freight-ready date. In case of transportation-related issues and pickup delays, contact us through Vendor Central.
Prepaid vendor carriers: Request a callback through Carrier Central or with the click-to-call service in the Amazon Relay app for appointment delays or reschedules.
Preparation guidelines
Please take the following steps to prepare for an increase in purchase orders:
Update your warehouse addresses with your correct operating hours and night and weekend availability. Find your fulfillment center, select Edit warehouse, then select Availability. If your site requires special equipment to pick up your freight, select the specific option for the equipment your site needs. Enter warehouse outages at least 30 days in advance.
Ensure that your contact details and catalog details are accurate.
Regularly review your confirmation rate, forecasts, and on-hand quantities.
Update product availability signals in Vendor Central or via EDI and provide visibility to products nearing end-of-life and limited supply, to enable quality purchase orders.
Review our ASN and labeling guidelines (refer to pages 65-72 for ASN guidelines, pages 28-42 for carton labeling guidelines, and pages 47-49 for pallet labeling guidelines).
Plan safety stock for long-lead order products.
Confirm purchase orders within 24 hours and process shipments quickly.
Coordinate with carriers for the earliest shipping appointments.
Please reach out if you have any questions and thank you for your continued partnership,
